THE RULES TO ENTER THE POSTGRADUATE COURSES :
Postgraduate courses are available for those who have a higher professional
education.
The period of the full-time study is 3 years, the part-time
form takes 4 years.
Deadlines for postgraduate applicants:
- Accepting applications to all scientific specialities – from September 1 to September 10;
- Entrance exams are held at the profile
departments – from September 15
to October 15;
- Enrollment to postgraduate courses (education)
from October 15 to October 30;
- Postgraduate courses on philosophy and foreign
languages - from November 1 (in groups formed by a designated date);
- Approval of individual plans of work and topics
for a dissertation research (a research proposal) - till December 31;
- Attesting of postgraduates about their work
done- at a meeting of all-specialities
postgraduates/or in an individual manner- at a scientific technical
council meeting taken annually - from November 15 to November 30;
- Agreement on the enrollment plan - till October31;
- Accepting the applications of postgraduates
from outside organizations and institutions on accessing them to pass
exams for a Candidate's degree (Ph.D.) exams - from September 1 to
September 30;
- Ph.D. exams on philosophy, foreign languages -
from May 15 to June 14;
- Ph.D. exams on a special subject - from January
10 to February 9 and from June 1 to June30.
Those who enter the postgraduate education submit to the Postgraduate Office
the following documents:
- Copies of the diploma of a higher professional
education and the application;
- Questionnaire;
- Recommendation of the State Institute Attesting
Commission (for graduates of a current year). The recommendation is valid
during a calendar year;
- A copy of the labor book ratified at the place
of an applicant’s work (for the part-time education);
- The Certificate about passing the candidate
exams (for those who have passed the latter);
- The list of issued scientific papers and
patents;
- 2 photos (3x4 cm);
- An applicant’s passport and diploma are
presented in a personal way.
The education of the enrolled postgraduates is either funded by the Ministry
of Education and Science or paid by a postgraduate on a commercial basis. The
number of the postgraduates enrolled and granted by the state is determined
by the amount of admission established by the Ministry of Education and
Science of Russia. The acceptance on a commercial basis is done beyond the
adopted plan.
Persons who enter the postgraduate education have an interview with a future
scientific advisor/a supervisor during the period of submitting the
documents, and the results of the interview are reported to the attesting
commission in a written form on a standard blank.
The admission decision is made by the attesting commission on the basis of
the conclusion of a scientific advisor about the interview results and the
scientific papers presented.
Those who enter post-graduate studies take the following competitive entrance
exams according to state educational standards of higher professional
education:
- Special subject. A special entrance exam
precedes exams on other subjects;
- Philosophy;
- Foreign language.
A postgraduate who fails to fulfill the individual plan within set terms is
expelled from the postgraduate courses by the rector’s order.
THE RULES TO ENTER THE DOCTORATE EDUCATION :
The doctorate education is possible for persons who have a Ph.D. degree.
Training of candidates for a Doctor of Sciences (Dr. Sc.) is done on a
full-time basis during a 3-years period.
Working with Dr. Sc. candidates is done within the following terms:
- Accepting the documents for studying in the
Doctorate Institution - from September 1
to November 30;
- Submitting the enrollment plan agreement to the
Doctorate Institution for the following year – till October 31.
Persons who enter the Doctorate Institution submit the following documents to
the Postgraduate and Doctorate Office:
- A doctorate candidacy application to the name
of the rector with recommendations of a future scientific
advisor/supervisor and a written approval of the acting chair;
- Ph.D. diploma copy;
- Questionnaire;
- The List of issued scientific papers and
patents;
- The detailed plan of the Doctorate dissertation
development;
- 1 photo (3x4 cm);
- An applicant’s passport and diploma are
presented in a personal way.
A Doctorate candidacy who fails to fulfill the individual plan within set
terms is expelled from the Doctorate courses by the rector’s order.
