The students scientific and research work of (SSRW) is the integrated part of
education and training of qualified experts in KemIFS&T.
They are able
to resolve professional, scientific and technical problems by themselves. The
scientific and research work promotes preparing the future experts for the creative realization
of knowledge, skills and abilities received in the Institute, helps to gain
methodology of the scientific search
and the explorative experience. Attracting students to the scientific and
research work allows to use their potential for
solving actual problems in different branches of science and technology.
Purpose for SSRW
The main purpose of organization and development of the scientific and
research work of students is to raise the
level of scientific qualification of experts having higher
professional education and bring out the talented youth for follow-up
training in the postgraduate schools (for master’s and Ph.D. degrees) and to
replenish the faculty and the scientific personnel of the Institute.
Tasks
- bringing out the most talented and advanced
students having explicit motivation for a scientific activity;
- creating the favorable conditions for development and
implementation of different forms in scientific creativity for the
youth.
- contributing to comprehensive development of
student’s individuality, forming his real self-assessment, gaining the
skills of their own work and activity in creative groups, grasping the
methods of research investigations;
- provision for students with possibilities in
carrying out different applied, fundamental, searching, methodological
and pedagogical research on
top-priority directions in different fields of science and engineering;
- integration of practical research potentials of teachers
and students directed to solve scientific and technical problems in
different branches of science and engineering.
Organization of SSRW
SSRW is considered an important part of the educational process and is
organized directly at the departments and in scientific offices of the
Institute (on-a-problem laboratories). SSRW is conducted under the leadership
of professors and teachers of the Institute, leading officers of scientific sections of the
Institute and postgraduates. People of the faculty and research officers are
appointed to be responsible for the scientific work and to supervise the
organization of SSRW at the departments or in scientific offices.
Below are given some SSRW organization forms:
- SSRW included in the educational process. It is carried out according to the curricula
and schedules and is provided with appropriate manuals and guides:
- reaching the tasks set, fulfilling labs
assignments, course and dissertation projects containing elements of a
scientific research;
- reaching the specified non-standard tasks set
during the student’s manufacture or educational practice;
- learning the theoretical basis of methods, task
setting technologies, organization and fulfillment of a scientific
research, planning and
organization of a scientific experiment, processing the scientific data
acquired, and etc. This all is carried out in the frame of the course
“The basics of a scientific research”. The given discipline can be
included in the curriculum list at the expense of class hours the
rector provides at his disposal.
- SSRW as a supplement to the educational process. Offers an individual work off the limits of
an academic program, and is organized in the following forms:
- student’s scientific clubs;
- individual scientific research under the
guidance of an advisor of the faculty;
- student’s scientific competitive arrangements
of different kinds: scientific seminars, conferences, competition of
works, Olympiads on disciplines and directions;
- special courses, programs, giving lessons to groups
of students provided that the latter has an explicit motivation to a
scientific activity.
- SSRW parallel to the educational process. Contributes to the best grasp of methods and
specified aspects in researching:
- participation of students in task-groups (or
on an individual base) for fulfilling a scientific research provided
that the latter may be state budgeted or agreed by the contracts gained
by professors or leading officers.
Student’s scientific clubs are organized at general-profile and special-profile
departments and also in scientific sub-departments. Students compile
summaries and study Russian and foreign special literature papers, grasp
skills of leading experiments and process the data received, design audio-
and video-software, lab units and technical means for education, prepare
reports they read at club meetings and/or at scientific seminars and
conferences.
The participants of SSRW are considered to be the students fulfilling certain
elements of an individual scientific work in the field of social,
humanitarian, natural and technical sciences. SSRW finishes with an
appropriate submitting and a report speech at the club’s meeting or at a
student’s scientific seminar or conference.
Scientific-and-research and engineering papers successfully done by students
and meeting the requirements of educational programs can be reckoned as
corresponding lab-works/lab assignments, course and diploma projects, and
other materials for learning.
SSRW is included in general plans of the instructional and scientific work of
the Institute, a division, and a department. Results of SSRW are published in
an annual report of the Institute (divisions, departments) in the section
“SSRW”.
